  1. Hi Steven

I finally got Scratch to control the PiFace – if you’re new to Scratch and Linux like me, it takes a bit to get your head around it, even when you have some computing experience. There are some scant instructions on the PiFace website (to which I have complained about the lack of any documentation whatsoever, not even an invoice!) but they don’t make a lot of sense at first, especially if you’re not familiar with the environment. Anyway, I’ve sorted it now and if you’d like to know what I did, just drop me an e-mail.

    Cheers, Martyn

  2. Steve:

I saw your answer to a question on Web Applications re good apps for family tree
    research:

so I presume you’re interested in genealogy.

There’s a new proposal at Area51 for a Genealogy and Family History Q&A
site on the StackExchange network which we’re all working hard to get
going. We got through the Definition phase in only 20 days, and we are
hoping to get through the Committment phase rather rapidly as well so we
can start with the Beta as soon as possible.

If you’re interested, please go to the proposed site, and I invite you to
“commit” to help ask and answer questions on it once it gets to Beta.

The site proposal is at: http://bit.ly/U3vnDX

We are now being held back by not having enough people with 200+ rep at a
Stack Exchange site, so if you signed up, it would really help us out.

I hope you’re interested. If so, I’ll see you there.
